In the very first days of 2022, I decided to open an Instagram profile under the name @lafigliadelpostino. While people often say "a son/daughter of the arts," I want to identify myself as also being "a daughter of mail".

My name (Asia) and my inclination for travel and movement (I currently live in Göttingen, Germany) make me a nomadic soul, constantly searching for my place in the world—both geographically and beyond. Perhaps this is why I resonate with Mail Art, a discipline greatly appreciated abroad and preserved in some of the world's most important museums. However, in Italy, institutions pay it little or inconsistent attention. Its protagonists have been peacefully fighting for decades to be recognized by art critics, who unfortunately often mortify creativity instead of encouraging it, giving more and more space to commercial and marketable art.

Mail Art cannot yield much economically because it was born as a form of art to give away, belonging exclusively to its recipient.

My project on social media primarily aims to be a reference point for mail artists and people fascinated by the world of mail, but also a place of arrival for all those who love art and are looking for new and stimulating perspectives for studying its history.

The humble example of this site, connected to social media dissemination, seeks to inspire all those who, passionate about worlds and sectors whose paths are not paved, feel too small to start somewhere.
